Invitation to fifth dialogue event in Bern
The fifth dialogue event of NRP 76 will take place on 22 September 2022 in Bern: "Governance and Funding in Child Protection".
Child protection in Switzerland is characterised by a federalist organisation, a diverse out-of-home placement policy and manifold funding models. (Semi-)private actors have played an important role in the past and continue to do so today. Depending on how priorities are set on the political agenda and how costs arre assessed, there are shifts in the definition of what is best for the "well-being" of children, young people and adults. The focus on governance and funding will help to discuss how successful child protection has been in the past and is today, and what conclusions can be drawn for the future.
The situation of externally placed children and adolescents and their families, as well as child protection, is being studied in a number of research projects of the National Research Programme "Welfare and Coercion" (NRP 76). At the dialogue event, findings will be presented and commented on by representatives from the practical field. The aim is to initiate a dialogue in which all participants at the event can participate.
"Governance and Funding in Child Protection" is the fifth and last dialogue event of NRP 76. This event is aimed at interested parties, affected persons and experts from practice, associations, organisations and public administration.
