Keeping up the conversation: dialogue event in Ticino
The fourth dialogue event of NRP 76 will take place on 7 June in Bellinzona: "Child protection and interventions in families: yesterday and today".
The best interests of the child have been and still are at the centre of (coercive) state measures. Criteria are defined to assess the risks to the child's well-being. From a historical perspective, the presented research projects examine normative ideas about the "good family" and when the need for state intervention was deemed to exist.
The situation of externally placed children and adolescents and their families, as well as child protection, is being studied in a number of research projects of the National Research Programme "Welfare and Coercion" (NRP 76). At the dialogue event, findings will be presented and commented on by representatives from the practical field. The aim is to initiate a dialogue in which all participants at the event can participate.
"Child protection and interventions in families: yesterday and today" is the fourth of five dialogue events for NRP 76. These events are aimed primarily at interested parties, affected persons and experts from practice, associations, organisations and public administration.
