Interview with Cantonal Councillor Jacqueline Fehr (ZH)
How can the authorities improve the way they communicate with the individuals affected?
Cantonal Councillor Jacqueline Fehr, Head of the Department of Justice and Home Affairs of the Canton of Zurich, takes a look at good communication between the authorities and the individuals affected: “One of the biggest obstacles to good communication is the considerable degree of mistrust that clients feel towards the state.” In her view there is a need for specially trained experts who can build a relationship of trust between the parties involved. She adds: “We must not forget that we represent the state, and many people find it simply impossible to trust us, based on their previous experiences.” The full interview can be found in Bulletin No. 3.
